The Palms Bakery is a micro bakery based in the heart of Manchester specialising in Wedding & Celebration cakes. Founder Rachel started the bakery full time in 2020 right before lockdown, after a few bumpy months our bakery found it’s home here at Pollard Yard.

How did we start?
Having studied art, design and photography at university Rachel found herself working in various industries with an unfulfilled passion to do something creative. With a fond love of food and baked goods Rachel spent a lot of time baking for friends and family before finessing the art of cake decorating back in 2019, she pursued this creative path enabled by a family friend, she was taught everything from buttercream piping to royal icing and fondant flower creations.
What came next?
And as with any specialism Rachel decided to form her niche into buttercream décor with that the Shaggy cake was born. From wild an intricate designs, psychedelic patterns, our cities beloved worker bees to flower print and so much more.
A nod to nostalgia and vintage cakes can be seen in the frilly piping work on some of our most popular cake designs. A firm favourite with our wedding couples.

Rachel made our wedding cake and it was absolutely delicious! We couldn't decide between all of the amazing flavours so in the end decided to get three different flavours and they tasted as incredible as they looked! I would definitely recommend!!
